RESIDENCY

While in residence, Soth and Zellar will teach a course entitled Truth, Lies, Memory, and Imagination: The Photograph as Story. This seminar will investigate the myriad possibilities of combining photographs and text to tell stories––whether the stories are straight documentary journalism, personal history, or works of speculation and imagination. They will also host a series of public talks by eminent colleagues in their field.

This residency is hosted by the Art Department and cosponsored by the Department of Art History, the Creative Writing Program in the Department of English, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Center for Visual Cultures, the Center for the Humanities, and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.
