SPRING 2015 | Interdisciplinary Artist in Residence RESIDENCY
During her spring 2015 residency, Barbata will
- teach “Community Arts Practice,” an interdisciplinary course;
- guide students to meaningfully engage with community organizations, other UW-Madison students, and members of the public; and
- encourage community arts collaboration before, during, and after public programs
Barbata’s residency is hosted by the Design Studies Department and cosponsored by the Dance Department; the Art Department; the Department of Theatre and Drama; the Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies Program (LACIS); and the Ruth Davis Design Gallery, which hosted Laura Anderson Barbata’s Transcommunality exhibition from September 19 to November 21, 2014.
Major community partners include the Madison Children's Museum, the Lussier Community Education Center, the Overture Center, and Wild Rumpus Circus.
